Our Motivation

With less than 10% of climate finance reaching Africa, there's an urgent need to increase investment, particularly in off-grid solutions. Africa, the world’s youngest continent, is disproportionately affected by climate change. By 2050, 1 in 4 people globally will be African, placing African youth as both vulnerable and highly motivated to address climate challenges. Jacobs Ladder Africa aims to empower this young workforce to create climate solutions for their communities and the world, leveraging their creativity and numbers for a sustainable future.

Why Kijani

We're all about empowering the next generation of changemakers with the right connections, mentorship, and resources to turn their ideas into reality. By linking up young innovators focused on sustainability and social impact with donors and investors, we’re making sure these game changing ideas tackle today’s challenges in the green economy and create a lasting impact.

We simplify the finding, engagement and funding process so both parties can focus on getting the best value possible.

We offer access to available projects, entrepreneurs and funding, with feedback mechanisms that help keep an honest approach to the process.

We seek to build a strong network of credible entrepreneurs, investors and funders by adopting a rigorous due diligence process and safeguards on all sides.

We provide equal access to opportunities by ensuring every young person, regardless of background, has a fair shot at telling their story and every funder has equal access to the pool.
